TASD SERVICES

Routine nighttime “fogging” operations keep nuisance and diseased mosquito populations reduced.

TASD surveys for mosquito breeding in standing water locations and treats any water that contains larval mosquitoes before they can develop into flying adults.

TASD works to clear drainage and stream blockages, which would otherwise cause flooding and provide a perfect place for mosquito breeding.

Small ornamental ponds or water gardens that allow for stagnating or standing water are perfect mosquito breeding sources. TASD staff will deliver mosquitofish free to any Lucas County resident with an approved pond.

TASD staff is available for presentations to local organizations, schools, civic, business, or government groups.

TASD works to remove above-ground swimming pools that are deemed to be a public health concern that creates mosquito breeding habitats.

TASD’s scrap tire program is aimed to eliminate larval mosquito habitat and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

Citizens can contribute to data useful in determining mosquito nuisance levels by using the Report a BITE! form.
