POSITION OPENING:

Seasonal Surveillance/Lab Assistant

HOURS:

40 hrs./wk., 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
May through September

HOURLY WAGE:

Positions start at $19.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position includes daily collection and taxonomic identification of mosquitoes for population studies, assisting with the West Nile Virus surveillance programs, and coordinating the propagation and delivery of mosquitofish.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 18+ years of age

• Dependable attendance

• Valid driver's license and good insurable driving record required

• Successful completion of routine pre-employment drug screening

• Good interpersonal communication skills

• Navigate using GPS throughout Lucas County

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

• Experience using ArcGIS is preferred

• Major in Biological Sciences or a related field is preferred
