POSITION OPENING:

Seasonal Larval Control Assistant

HOURS:

40 hrs./wk., 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
March through September

HOURLY WAGE:

Positions start at $19.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position involves working outdoors to conduct larval mosquito control applications. The job can involve treating standing water in natural settings, riding a bicycle to treat roadway catch basins, and treating or removing other water-holding containers that breed mosquitoes. It will provide valuable experience in applied Biology, decision-making, GIS software applications, and community engagement. Successful seasonal employees have an opportunity for continued permanent employment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 18+ years of age

• Dependable attendance

• Valid driver's license and good insurable driving record required

• Successful completion of routine pre-employment drug screening

• Good interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to operate IOS technology – using GPS navigation and GIS mapping software

• Ability and willingness to ride a bicycle

• Pick up and carry up to 80 lbs
